This is my review of the Slow Watch. A watch was provided for me, but it in no way shapes my opinion of this brand.
Nowadays, we work more, keep busy schedules and are under so much stress that we are people who vaguely resemble our human-kin foundations. We need a day to do one thing after another, constantly catching up from the previous days to-do list. A break in between is often not included in the plans, and when it is it, we quickly dismiss it.
Our world, our technology and humanity is constantly developing more rapidly than we’ve ever seen. Everything is bigger, stronger and faster and everything must be done at a bigger, stronger, faster pace. We are stressed and constantly pressed for time, be it at school, at work, in our free time or even on vacation. We forget what it is that is really important and what we value.
Everything else is unfortunately too short: the family, friends, leisure, hobbies and time alone. Life is short and we are so caught up in the day-to-day that we lose sight of that. The time is running out every day! We should take more time for the things that are really important to us. We constantly push things to tomorrow, but is that really fair?
The Slow Watch – How many tomorrows do we really have?
This is an idea which has been on my mind for much of my adult life. So, when I was asked by the Slow Watch company to explore their brand mission „to slow down“ and try one of their watches which facilitates this idea, I was excited… and intrigued.
The Slow Watch has an incredible mission and it’s using fashionable, high quality watches to get the word out. SLOW DOWN! The Slow Watch helps me keep things that are important on the „today list“ and make time in the now. It’s concept is to shift the way people read time, to not focus on the minute or the second, but on the moment.
So, I wanted to try this watch out, and see what I would do with my moments…
I slowed down for books
I am not big on reading, mostly because I don’t have the time. And when I do I fall asleep. So I wanted to slow down to read and really get into something good.
I slowed down for shopping
As a fashion blogger, the experience of shopping is very important. I pay attention to my style and to the new trends, taking time to take it all in. The Slow Watch helps me get lost with designers, trend setters, and textiles.
I slowed down for Espresso
I love espresso! No matter how hectic and stressful life can get, I take the time for an espresso. It calms me down and gives me the energy in my everyday life to continue, as oxymoron-y as that sounds. With each sip, I take a moment for myself. The hectic world suddenly slows down, and for a few moments time can stop.
I slowed down for holding hands
In the hustle and bustle of life, it’s easy to forget how much a simple gesture of affection can mean in a moment. It can take you a stressful moment to complete calm. The trick is slowing down enough to remember to do it.
About the Slow Watch
The Slow Watch has brought us a fashionable timepiece with incredible engineering. From the design to the mechanics, the Slow Watch is a work of art.
I was quite impressed when I checked out the Slow Watch website. Shopping online is such a huge thing now, even better if it’s made simple. Their branding and design makes this easy it easy to shop online. I love their streamlined design and mix-n-match options. And with most of the Slow Watches are unisex, it makes buying a watch for yourself or anyone simple.
Slow Watch is made with Swiss Ronda Caliber 505.24H GMT Quartz movement. It has one hand working around 24 hours allowing you to see the entire day in one view. The concept is that the one-hand system fundamentally changes the way you look at your watch and it will give you a better consciousness about the way your day progresses.
My Slow Watch Review
I really love the concept. It never hinders my punctuality. I chose the Slow Jo 19 with the black stainless face and light brown vintage leather band. I was very impressed with the packaging; with a sturdy, navy blue cube that revealed my heavy watch. The face made of durable 316L stainless steel proved to match literally everything I wear.
Wearing the Slow Watch gave me a new challenge at first, but once I adapted to taking in the moments rather than the seconds and minutes, I found myself doing more of the things in life that make life worth living.
