Breidenbacher Hof Dusseldorf – The Dapper Man’s Hotel Choice

Located next to King’s Avenue (Königsallee), the Breidenbacher Hof was the second hotel I enjoyed with The Fairytale Traveler in Dusseldorf. It’s centrally located in Düsseldorf’s Old Town and very close to the International Airport. This is by far the finest hotel in the city and perhaps even in Germany. My visit to this hotel was very special for me. It was my first time spending two days in a five-star hotel in Germany.

Breidenbacher Hof – A Capella Hotel

The location was very easy to find and when I arrived all my expectations had already been topped. Upon arrival I was politely greeted by the service staff who, like a movie, took my car and parked it in their valet parking lot. They even knew my name.

Of course the entire staff was very friendly, courteous and attentive. They received my luggage with a smile and gave me a personal escort with a tour to my suite.

The Room

Among the Breidenbacher Hof’s 85 spacious rooms and 21 large, elegant suites was my room, a perfect and roomy Capella Suite overlooking Dusseldorf.

A little Dream of mine came true when I saw this room (or shall I say rooms). The suite lacked not one thing for the dapper gentleman. As I entered my suite, I found myself in a large living room complete with massive windows, build in wall-to-wall bookshelves and a large sectional sofa. The living room had its own private toilet, an espresso maker, complimentary min-bar, Bose sound system, wall-mounted flat screen TV and pull out charger ports in the side tables.

In the bedroom there was a king bed with the finest of linens. The wall mounted TV, massive windows, seating area, vanity and end tables were a lovely addition to the room. Among the many highlights of this suite was the built-in temperature, lighting, curtain controls and charger ports inside the end tables (for both sides of the bed).

A walk through the dressing room corridor led me into the massive master bathroom. To my left (and my absolute favorite) was a hot tub, to my right was a large rain shower. In front of me I found a giant mirror with a built-in TV.

The marble and the combination of colors made the whole room feel refreshing, harmonious and exuded class. All I could think about was relaxing in the hot tub at the end of a long day.

As I said, there was absolutely no shortage of luxury. The suite was impressive, comfortable, and absolutely excellent.

The Hotel

In addition the my incredible suite, the downstairs Capella Bar & Cigar Lounge was also one of my favorite rooms. There was an enclosed cigar smoking room complete with humidor where you could order a drink from a wide selection of fine whiskeys and enjoy the atmosphere.

The hotel also offers amazingly designed common areas such as:

  • Exquisite dining at the Brasserie „1806“ and various lounges.
  • Afternoon tea as well as homemade cakes and coffee specialties at the Lobby Lounge
  • Spa & Fitness Center
  • complimentary cakes, cookies, teas, coffee and espresso in the first floor reading room lounge

Service and Breakfast

If I were giving points for service, the hotel would no doubt receive full marks. The service staff members always had a smile on their faces, asked the guests about their day, greeted us by name and made 100% sure we were very happy. They were there for guidance at any time and could also communicate in English .

The Fairytale Traveler and I ordered breakfast to our room. We marked what we wanted to eat and drink on the menu card, chose a time for it to be sent to our room, and at exactly that time, breakfast was delivered. Some of the different foods offered were rolls, various croissants, different cheeses, salami, jam, tea, coffee, fresh orange juice and much more.

With the location being possibly the best in the city, a fashion lover like me very quickly found something to do. Only a few meters from hotel is a large shopping mall where I found many inspirations. Also just around the block are some of the most elite brands in fashion to include; Tiffany & Co., Gucci, Louis Vuitton and more.

My entire stay from the moment I arrived to the sad moment I had to leave was perfect. I couldn’t have dreamed of a better hotel experience in Dusseldorf. I will forever make the highest recommendation for this property and look forward to visiting again.

Special thanks and consideration to Visit Dusseldorf for sponsoring this visit and to Breidenbacher Hof for welcoming us. This in no way shapes my opinion of this review.

  1. I have been surfing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours.

It is pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all webmasters and bloggers made good content
as you did, the web will be a lot more useful than ever before.

  2. A motivating discussion is definitely worth comment. I do believe that you ought to publish more on this issue, it
may not be a taboo matter but typically people don’t speak about
these subjects. To the next! Many thanks!!
